Terms of Service
Published: 4 October 2026
Version: lifesync-service-terms-2026-10-04
These terms take effect for an agreement when that agreement expressly adopts this version.
1. Your supplier and these terms
These terms cover LifeSync-operated websites and apps, including iSazisi Reader, and the services identified in your offer. The registered operating company identified below trades as LifeSync by MNi and is your service supplier. Mlandeli-Notemba Investments (MNi) is the separate non-trading holding and governance company; use of the MNi brand or technical checkout does not make it your supplier.
An offer must identify the app, included features and surfaces, supplier, price and any additional service conditions before you accept it. A separately identified third-party supplier contracts under its own clearly disclosed terms. Product-specific conditions supplement these terms only for that product and cannot remove your mandatory legal rights.

2. Worldwide availability
LifeSync is developed and operated from South Africa. We impose no general country restriction: our apps and services are intended to be available worldwide wherever access is lawful and the relevant distribution channel makes them available. Specific legal restrictions, platform rules, export controls, payment-provider availability or content-licensing restrictions may limit a particular service or item. An app listing is not a promise that every feature or payment method is available in every country.
Mandatory consumer protections in your country continue to apply. Third-party books and other content may have different copyright or licensing status in different countries; check the rights applicable to content you import, download or share.
3. Agreement, eligibility and accounts
Opening this page, browsing a website or downloading an app does not by itself record your acceptance of these terms. Where an account, service or purchase requires agreement, you must be shown the applicable version and an explicit acceptance action before that agreement is recorded. A record accepting an older document is not a record accepting this version.
You must have the legal capacity or appropriate guardian or authorised-representative approval required for the service you use. Children may use supported child or guest features under appropriate supervision; features requiring consent or a contract remain subject to applicable age and capacity rules. Keep account credentials secure, provide accurate information needed for the service, and tell us about suspected unauthorised access. Guest and offline features remain available where the app supports them.
4. Services and access
The app description and the offer you accept define the features supplied. For example, iSazisi Reader supports reading, text-to-speech and management of supported documents; optional account or network features depend on the applicable app and permissions. Access to a free feature does not require a paid subscription unless the offer clearly identifies it as paid.
A subscription covers one logical app and only the surfaces and features expressly included in its offer. A shared login, cluster name or navigation link does not grant access to another app. If you choose several apps in one purchase, each app must have a separate entitlement and price allocation. Storage capacity is not sold as a subscription benefit. Payment does not purchase evidence credibility, ownership of another person’s records or priority over their rights.
5. Prices, checkout and fulfilment
Approved app-specific offers and the final checkout quote determine the payable amount and currency. Before placing an order, you must be able to review the product, included features, billing period, taxes and fees, payment method, delivery or activation timing, renewal conditions, cancellation and refund conditions, and correct mistakes or withdraw. A currency estimate is not a final quote. We do not charge a price or fee that was not disclosed and accepted.
LifeSync purchases use the designated web checkout and trusted payment service. The MNi dashboard provides technical payment and entitlement administration; it does not change the legal supplier. Android apps consume entitlement state and do not collect payment. Store-specific purchase links and distribution are subject to the relevant platform rules. A chargeable offer must be enabled and have verified supplier, provider and settlement details before payment is accepted.
A subscription, separately priced book download or other purchase grants only the product described in its order. Free in-app reading, where offered, does not include a separately priced EPUB or TXT download. Access or delivery follows verified payment or an expressly granted free entitlement, not a client-side success message. Keep the order confirmation; contact us with its reference if fulfilment fails.
6. Launch promotions and trials
The scheduled launch promotion ends on 31 December 2026, with phased paid subscriptions scheduled from 1 January 2027. Only products expressly marked eligible in the current offer qualify. This is a final-production-testing promotion; availability and scope may be changed or ended, with notice where required by law. AI, model or API costs, human-delivered services, regulated services and other expressly excluded products are not included.
A zero-price promotion is a free entitlement, not a payment receipt or bank settlement. It has no cash value and creates no cash refund or transferable credit; this does not affect mandatory consumer rights or a refund due for a separate paid purchase. A promotion or trial does not automatically convert to a chargeable subscription when it ends. Any paid continuation requires the applicable offer, clear billing disclosure and your authorisation. A later promotion or trial must disclose its own end date and conditions before acceptance.
7. Renewal, cancellation and refunds
The accepted offer must state the subscription duration, whether renewal is recurring, the renewal price or how it is determined, and how to stop renewal. Recurring charges require your authorisation. Required expiry and change notices must be given. You may request cancellation or stop future renewal through the supported subscription controls or by contacting us with your order reference. Cancellation does not erase statutory rights or make paid access to an unrelated app conditional on retaining this subscription.
Refunds and any lawful early-cancellation charge are determined by the accepted offer and applicable law, not by a blanket no-refund rule. Where South African electronic-transaction cooling-off rights apply, they include the statutory seven-day cancellation period and the required refund time limit; lawful exclusions depend on the actual product and circumstances. Immediate service or digital-content delivery does not remove withdrawal rights unless the applicable legal conditions and any required express consent and acknowledgment are met. Rights relating to defective, misdescribed or undelivered services remain available. Contact us for cancellation, delivery problems or a refund request.
8. Your content and intellectual property
You retain your rights in documents, notes and other content you provide. You give the supplier only the permissions needed to provide the features you choose, such as processing a document for reading, optional sync or sharing. Uploading content does not transfer ownership to LifeSync or MNi or authorise sale of that content. Share only material you own or are allowed to use, and respect privacy, copyright and the permissions of other participants.
You receive a limited, non-exclusive permission to use the app for the purposes and scope of your offer. Rights in software, brands and third-party components remain with their respective owners or licensors. Applicable open-source licences and statutory rights continue to apply. No blanket claim is made that MNi owns every app asset or imported book. Separate content or commercial licences must be disclosed for the relevant item.
9. Responsible use and third parties
Do not use the service for unlawful activity, harassment, fraudulent content, malware, unauthorised access, circumvention of another person’s access controls, or disruption of the service. Do not distribute content without the necessary rights. Reasonable security restrictions do not prohibit acts that applicable law or an applicable open-source licence permits.
External websites, content sources and providers operate under their own terms and privacy practices. A link does not guarantee their availability or grant content rights. Community reciprocity is voluntary: access does not create an obligation to provide unpaid labour, personal data, money or community contributions.
10. Privacy and control of your data
The Privacy Notice explains the personal information used for the relevant service, processors, retention, transfers, permissions and available rights. Supported offline data is local-first; account, sync, sharing and other network features may process the data disclosed for those features. You can decline optional permissions and use the features that remain available.
Use the app’s supported export and deletion controls or contact us to exercise your rights. Keep your own recoverable copies of important local documents. Account closure, subscription cancellation and deletion of personal information are separate actions; retained information and legal retention obligations are governed by the Privacy Notice and applicable law. Institutions receive only information that a person has authorised or that another narrow lawful authority permits.
11. Support, changes and suspension
Contact us about technical issues, billing, accessibility or legal questions using the channels below. A response-time or availability commitment applies only where your offer expressly includes it. We may maintain, update or change the service, but material reductions to an accepted paid offer must be communicated and handled consistently with the contract and applicable remedies.
Access may be restricted proportionately for a material breach, unlawful use, non-payment of a validly due charge, or a security or safety risk. Where practical and legally permitted, we explain the reason and provide an opportunity to resolve it or challenge the decision. Urgent security or legal action may require immediate restriction. Termination does not remove accrued refund, data-access, dispute or other mandatory rights. You may stop using the service and request account closure through supported controls or our contact channels.
12. Service quality and legal rights
We must comply with applicable obligations concerning service quality, safety, privacy and consumer protection. Software can have interruptions or errors; tell us about problems so that we can investigate and provide the remedies required by the accepted offer and law. No uptime or professional accreditation is promised unless expressly included in the offer.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for fraud, gross negligence or other protected claims. There is no blanket disclaimer of all warranties and no requirement that you waive mandatory consumer rights. Any additional limitation in a particular offer must be lawful, fair and clearly brought to your attention before agreement.
13. Law, complaints and disputes
South African law governs these terms, subject to mandatory protections and rights to bring proceedings that apply in your country. This choice does not require a consumer to give up access to a court, regulator, ombud or other remedy available under applicable law. Contact us first if you wish us to investigate a complaint; contacting us is not a precondition that removes statutory complaint rights.
For South African consumer matters, available routes may include the National Consumer Commission and the appropriate ombud or court. Privacy complaints may be directed to the Information Regulator as described in the Privacy Notice. An invalid provision does not remove the remaining lawful provisions or prevent applicable law from taking precedence.
14. Versions and changes to these terms
The version and publication date are stated at the top of this page. These terms apply to agreements that expressly adopt this version; publication alone does not amend an existing contract or record consent. Material changes must be notified before they take effect for affected users, and renewed acceptance must be obtained where the change or applicable law requires it. A later website version does not silently replace the terms embedded in an installed app.
Product-specific terms and your order confirmation remain available for the relevant agreement. You may save or print this page. Please contact us if you need a copy of the version applicable to your order.
